I hope that you can help me
In January 2004 we stayed at the Outrigger Beach Resort where there was a group of four guys who sang very good harmonised Fijian music.(with I believe guitars and banjoleles)
We are hoping to go back next year but before then I would very much like some information on one of their songs.
We have told our family of the piece that was sang to guests on their last meal before departure unfortunately I have been unable to find this on any site on the web.
Our daughter visited the resort just a week ago and unfortunately they didn’t see the four singing as before. (they were going to take some film on their phone/camera)
Our daughter (who lives in Australia) is expecting a child and we hope to spend some time in Fiji late next year (we live in the UK) when the little one will be up to travelling.
I hope that you can help me as it would be a great addition to our photographs.
Best wishes
Michael
PS
If you aren’t able to help I would very much appreciate you passing this message on to anyone that you think might be able to place the music played.
Isa isa vulagi lasa dina
It’s mostly sang to those who are going back home….
The song title is “Isa Lei” which is our traditional Fijian farewell song. The words isa lei is an almost weeping lament.
