Does anyone know the Author/Composer of this hymn? I would like to publish an arrangement in Wales and would like to make sure of rights/copyright

    Thanks

what does I Jiova mean in english could anyone translate please

  • Lora

“I Jiova” writer is addressing Jehovah.

    • Faith

Yes English for Jiova is Jehovah. The in Māori the All Blacks sing in their national anthem,
      E Ihowā Atua….
      Ihowa is Māori for Jehovah
      Atua is Māori for God

      Hallelujah means PRAISE JAH
      JAH is short for Jehovah
      JAh is IO in Māori

    Meu seretaka voli
    Na yaca i Jiova

Please correct lyrics.. there’s a big difference between ‘yacai’ and ‘yaca i’

    A wonderful powerful HYMN, and to help non-fijian speaking brothers/sisters out there below is the simplest interpretation (to help you understand) with the best of my abilities;

Oqo na noqu masu – THIS IS MY PRAYER
meu masu ka niu sa gadreva – PRAY COZ I’M IN NEED
Meu seretaka sara – SO I MAY PRAISE/SING
Na yacai Jiova – JEHOVA’S NAME

    Repeat

    Chorus
    I Jiova – OH JEHOVHA
Ni vukei au mada – MAY YOU HELP ME
kau vaaqara – FOR I AM SEARCHING
na gagadre ni yaloqu – THE NEEDS OF MY SOUL
au qai tagica ga – THAT/AND I CRIED FOR

    Repeat

Ni rogoci au – PLEASE HEAR ME
ka niu sa gadreva – COZ I AM IN NEED
meu seretaka rawa – SO I CAN PRAISE/SING
na yacai Jiova – JEHOVHA’S NAME

    Repeat

    uuu uuu uuu

    Chorus

    Haleluya haleluya
mai vakahaleluya – COME AND SING HALELUYA
mai vakahaleluya – COME AND SING HALELUYA
    Haleluya vua
